PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage the monthly revenue close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting
Oversee billing operations, ensuring timely and accurate invoicing aligned with contractual milestones, terms, and conditions
Review all contracts for Revenue Recognition. 606 compliance for GAAP purposes
Prepare USG System Technical Support (STS) vouchers/invoices
Prepare year-end sales reports
Review Sales Orders in SAP for account assignment accuracy
Supervise/cover for employee’s absence
Support annual audit and tax compliance matters
Miscellaneous reports and other
Maintain and document revenue accounting policies and procedures
Monitor unbilled receivables and deferred revenue balances, ensuring timely resolution
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
A bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is required for this position along with three to five years of accounting/government contract experience (CPA and/or MBA preferred)
Working knowledge of the Wide Area Workflow (WAWF) of the US Government (preferred)
Strong knowledge of SAP, and multi-tasking skills
Strong organizational skills
Strong knowledge of MS Office Products
High level of initiative
Must be able to communicate effectively both verbal and written
Extreme accuracy in quality of work
Works independently or with groups of people
High level of leadership, supervisory and customer service skills
PHYSICAL EFFORT
Sight: must be able to regularly read computer screen, reports, and various documents with detail and clarity to accomplish work tasks in a safe and efficient manner, including regular use of adequate close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus
Hearing: must be able to regularly hear well enough to communicate
WORKING CONDITIONS
Physical Location: This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routine uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and copy, fax and scanning machines. Employee must be able to perform job functions with appropriate intermittent relief where applicable under these conditions.
Teamwork: This position will work with others to ensure efficiency in the workplace
Ability to follow instructions: Managers assign tasks and responsibilities, which vary; this position should be able to follow instructions competently
Concentration: This position may perform the same or similar tasks repeatedly, so a strong level of concentration when carrying out these tasks is important for quality control purposes. This role is often fast paced, so being able to maintain focus at all times is important
