We are excited to announce that we are looking for part-time per diem or float Endoscopy Technicians near Great Neck, NY and Long Island .

About the Role:

The Endoscopy Technician plays a crucial role in the healthcare team, primarily responsible for assisting in endoscopic procedures that diagnose and treat various gastrointestinal conditions. This position requires a strong focus on patient care, ensuring that patients are comfortable and informed throughout their procedures. The technician will prepare and maintain endoscopic equipment, ensuring that all tools are sterile and functioning properly. Additionally, the Endoscopy Tech will assist physicians during procedures, providing necessary instruments and support to ensure optimal outcomes. Ultimately, this role is vital in contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the endoscopy unit, enhancing patient safety and satisfaction.

Minimum Qualifications:


  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Completion of an accredited Endoscopy Technician program or equivalent experience.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification as a Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST).

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

  • Experience in a healthcare setting, particularly in endoscopy or surgical services.

  • Knowledge of gastrointestinal anatomy and physiology.


Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain endoscopic equipment and instruments for procedures.

  • Assist physicians during endoscopic procedures by providing necessary tools and support.

  • Ensure patient comfort and safety by monitoring vital signs and responding to patient needs.

  • Maintain a clean and sterile environment in the endoscopy suite.

  • Document procedures and patient information accurately in electronic health records.


Skills:

The required skills for this position include strong attention to detail and the ability to follow strict protocols for sterilization and equipment handling. Effective communication skills are essential, as the Endoscopy Tech must interact with patients and medical staff to ensure a smooth workflow. Problem-solving skills are also important, as the technician may need to troubleshoot equipment issues during procedures. Preferred skills, such as knowledge of gastrointestinal anatomy, enhance the technician's ability to assist physicians effectively.
