POSITION SUMMARY
The Medical Student Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day administration of the requirements for all medical school programs. The coordinator assists the DIO and Director of Medical Education by performing administrative duties related to the planning, directing and coordination of both the academic and operational activities of the program.
The Medical Student Coordinator functions as a liaison, between the Medical Education department leadership, medical students, faculty, Medical Schools leadership, participating sites, and other departments as needed.
The Medical Student Coordinator should be knowledgeable about compliance and regulatory requirements for all Medical Schools in which their students rotate at AtlantiCare.
This position supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts and demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and cooperation.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION: Associate degree in related field. Bachelor's degree preferred.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum 6 years' experience in related field required. Additional education may substitute for experience. Previous hospital experience preferred. Ability to prioritize tasks, maintain deadlines and prepare schedules and instructional materials in hard copy using Microsoft Office Applications required. Excellent communication, writing and/or interpersonal skills are required. Knowledge of medical terminology preferred. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail required.
PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Potential for exposure to the hazards and risk of the hospital environment, including exposure to infectious disease, hazardous substances, and potential injury. This position requires sitting, standing, walking, stooping and crouching a majority of the workday. Works with such equipment as computer terminal, fax machine, printer and copier.

This position reports to Director of Medical Education.
