Chesapeake Search Partners has partnered with our client in the global fintech industry in search of an Assistant Controller to join their growing team. This person will be responsible for owing the month end close process, recording complex transactions and be the right hand person to the Controller.
Key Responsibilities:
Own the month end closing.
Compile and analyze financial data to prepare accurate and timely balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
Verify and record complex transactions, ensuring proper classification and adherence to accounting principles.
Regularly reconcile bank statements, accounts receivable, and accounts payable to ensure accuracy.
Contribute to the preparation of corporate tax returns and related filings.
Present clear and concise financial information to management, including insights and recommendations.
Prepares and records assets, liability, revenue, and expense entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
Maintains and balances subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, and reconciling transactions and resolving discrepancies.
Maintains general ledger by transferring subsidiary accounts, preparing a trial balance, and reconciling entries.
Completes external audit by analyzing and scheduling general ledger accounts and providing information for auditors.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or relevant field
At least 5 years of progressive accounting experience
CPA Preferred
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Proficiency in accounting software and financial reporting tools - NETSUITE A PLUS
